Get to know me

Where everything comes together

I am Romy. Coach, mother, stepmother and woman. Someone who has come to know life from quite a few different sides by now. Maybe that is also why I understand women so well. My knowledge comes not only from training and theory, but also from my own life and everything that has crossed my path along the way.

For years I searched for balance myself. In food, exercise, health, work, relationships and motherhood. I tried different diets, counted calories and kept looking for something that worked for me and that I could actually keep up.

Along the way I discovered that, for me, health is about so much more than food and exercise. It is about the whole picture: how you think, how you deal with stress, how you make choices, set boundaries and divide your time and energy. And above all: how you take good care of yourself while life simply goes on.

What life taught me

Taking good care of yourself is not a luxury

Motherhood and life in a blended family have taught me a great deal about that. About caring for others, about different needs and expectations and about the search for a balance in which you can be there for your family without losing yourself. It has strengthened my belief that taking good care of yourself is not a luxury, but an essential foundation.

Health also took on an extra meaning for me. In 2021 my stepdaughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and in 2025 I was diagnosed with breast cancer myself. Life-changing experiences that showed me how fragile life is, but also how important it is to look at what you need to feel strong, energetic and connected to yourself.

Social WorkBusinessEducationCoaching

Warm, honest, down-to-earth and practical

With my background in Social Work, business, education and coaching, I help women gain insight into what is going on and where there is room for change. I listen, reflect, ask questions and help create an overview.

My way of coaching is warm, honest, down-to-earth and practical. No standard step-by-step plan, but guidance that fits your story and your life.

On a lighter note

A few fun facts about me

I do vowel gymnastics

  • Once a week I shape the five vowels with my mouth: A, E, I, O, U.
  • According to my grandma, it keeps the wrinkles away. And when grandma says so, you do it.

Superstitious? Maybe.

  • I charge my moonstones in the moonlight, but with both feet firmly on the ground.
  • Classics from my Dutch-Indonesian upbringing: never count money in the evening, never cut your toenails in the evening, never celebrate your birthday early.
  • And above all: no shoes on the table.

Breakfast is my favourite moment of the day

  • A quiet little breakfast full of good nutrients and I am a happy woman.
  • I am quite happy to let the whole day revolve around it.

I smell my daughter's breath while she sleeps

  • A bit odd, I know.
  • My grandma used to do this with me. Some things need no explanation.

I prefer eating from bowls rather than plates

  • No idea why, it just tastes that little bit better.
  • My crockery cupboard is organised accordingly.

I love cooking

  • I wish I could spend far more time on it.
  • Indonesian cuisine is my favourite.
Who I work with

My heart lies with women who carry a lot on their shoulders

Women who care for others, work, are mothers or partners and have lost a little bit of themselves somewhere along the way. Who feel they want to take better care of themselves, have more energy or make different choices, but do not know where to begin.

That is where my work begins. With your story.

Because to me, women's health is about more than food and exercise. It is about the relationship you have with yourself, your body, your choices and your life.

It is exactly there, where life experience, women's health and coaching meet, that everything comes together for me.

How I work: the VvO method by Romy

Vary, Nourish & Support

Healthy eating does not have to be about counting, weighing or tracking. Food can help you learn to listen to your body again and discover what you need. VvO stands for the Dutch words Variƫren, Voeden en Ondersteunen: Vary, Nourish and Support.

Vary

Alternate between different foods, colours, flavours and ways of cooking. Not every plate has to be perfect, what matters is the overall picture across the day and the week.

Nourish

Look not only at how much you eat, but above all at what is on your plate and what your body gets out of it. That way, healthy eating stops being a maths exercise.

Support

Where food alone is not enough, targeted supplements can fill the gap. Not as many as possible, but deliberately choosing what can support your body.

Content & collaborations

Working with brands I truly believe in

I really enjoy creating content for social media and sharing my enthusiasm for brands and products in a creative way. I have already worked with a number of brands I genuinely believe in, such as Buut (part of ABN AMRO), StudyGo and Elovena.

What I love most is working with brands that fit me and my content. It matters to me that a collaboration feels authentic and that I can talk about a brand or product with real enthusiasm.

Think of women's health, mental and physical health, nutrition and exercise, but also everything around life in a blended family. That is why I only work with brands that genuinely excite me and whose products or vision I can truly stand behind.
